For the last week now, I have changed my daily routine pretty strongly. I have always struggled with getting up in the morning. Going back to my teenage years, I remember getting out of bed was a challenge for most of my days. Exactly one week ago I decided to start an experiment to see if I could change this routine.
My intent is to end every evening with a short yoga set ( I use this video by Yoga with Adriene ). This helps me to unwind and calm down the mind a bit and relax the body before going to bed. I set my alarm clock for 6:30 and trust me that is weird. I remember only a few months ago stating that a 6 at the start of my alarm clock was unnatural and should be avoided at all costs. Now I do this voluntarily. My morning intent is to start the day with a another short yoga set ( I have used this 5 minute video or this 11 minute video if I take a bit more time ). This alone has worked for me beautifully. I feel more energised during the day, more relaxed when going to sleep and overall more grateful for the live I am living.
I have just installed the productive app to help me digitally appreciate my progress. I am curious how this is going to help me build and keep up my new habits. I’ll let you know in about a week what the progress is on that one.
As for my latest intent: journal everyday once (in the evening) or twice (morning and evening). I have always found it very difficult to keep up daily journalling. So here goes, evening 1 – post 1. You can follow if I keep true to my intent. Singing off for today. If all goes well, see y’all tomorrow morning.
